Honky tonk badonkadonk.

This is Dave.  He is STOKED to be attending the CMA music fest concert (Fan Fair, for those of you who remember).  He has been listening to sports talk radio all week to pump himself up for this!  (Ahem.)  Even though he didn’t know any of the artists when we got there (except Alan Jackson – at least he knew Alan Jackson) I think he actually enjoyed himself.  He discovered that he likes it when Little Big Town sings an old Fleetwood Mac hit (“I KNOW THIS SONG!!!”), and I think I saw him tap his foot a little to Rodney Atkins.  And perhaps most importantly, he learned what a badonkadonk is.

Unfortunately, we had to leave before Kenny Rodgers took the stage.  When you’re paying a babysitter $12/hour and she’s been at your house since 5:00 p.m., after about 11:15, all you hear are dollar signs ringing up in your head.

Thanks for taking me to the concert, dear!

I guess I’m getting a taste of my own medicine.  Now that Torin can operate the camera, she refuses to let me take a picture of her unless she can also take one of me.  With very little makeup.  Wearing my Booby’s t-shirt.  I can’t believe I’m actually posting this.

Here’s the one that I took of her (I’m hosting a Matilda Jane party this fall and I needed a photo of the cute shirt):

Then here’s the one that she insisted on taking of me:

Cute, I know.  I look much more attractive BEHIND the camera.

Happy Anniversary to us.

Seven years ago today, I promised to love and cherish Dave.  In turn, he promised to remain devoted and faithful to Jodie… Janie… and Jadie.  (The guy who performed our ceremony got my name wrong three times.)  And because nothing says “I love you” like a pre-recorded episode of the Bachelor, Dave presented me with the best anniversary gift this weekend – a DVR!!!  Woo-hoo!  Now I can record all of the fun shows that I always have to miss.

Dave is actually sick today, so I was a little bummed that I had to drag the kids to church all by myself (and we had nursery duty this morning, which is always fun), but my spirits were lifted a little when Brad Paisley smiled and said hi to me in the hallway.  He and his wife were walking into the sanctuary just as Torin and I were taking the crawlers on a stroll in the big buggy.  I love living in this town!
