Today’s snow day pictures are brought to you by the iPhone. It’s actually got a pretty decent little camera inside of it. Don’t get me wrong, I still prefer my Canon 5DM2 with the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, but sometimes I just don’t want to lug that heavy thing around. The kids and I went downtown today. Torin is doing a biography report on Annie Oakley, and she needed a hat for her presentation. This first picture cracks me up. It was taken totally by accident as I was sliding the phone in my pocket. In this shot, I am lecturing the kids on sticking together, listening to my voice, holding hands when we cross the street, and not making any inappropriate comments (like pointing and yelling “Hey, look at that guy!”) when we walk past any homeless men. Even though it was taken by accident, I love that the pink chewing gum is off-center but still in focus… I’m all about capturing the details.
Mission accomplished. I think the hat is more “Terri Clark” than “Annie Oakley,” but it’ll work!
