You are my sunshine
my only sunshine
you make me happy
when skies are gray
you’ll never know dear, how much I love you
please don’t take my sunshine away.

It was a short trip – just three days – but the kids and I can cram a LOT into three days. Even so, we never have quite enough time to do everything we want to do and see everyone we want to see. We managed to spend time with the cows, the fish, Grandpa Marlin, and even take a quick drive over to St. Louis. We had to hurry back home so I can work the last half of spring break. Hard to believe there’s only eight more weeks of school and then it will be SUMMER!
I am so glad that Ralph Macchio is going to be on Dancing with the Stars, because I’ve had Daniel-san on the brain for the past couple of weeks. Parker has started karate lessons, and I have to sit quietly while he’s in class – no matter how much I want to scream “NO MERCY,” I have to restrain myself. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get my Karate Kid references when I yell at him “Look eye! Always look eye!” It’s such a hoot to watch these kids. No matter how tough and serious Parker tries to act, he almost always ends up losing his balance. I don’t think real ninjas usually giggle and snort when they accidentally fall to the ground doing a side-kick, but that’s just his style.
